Colleges

Site under development Site under developmentStanford Computer & Business College was established in 1997, with the opening of two campuses - namely Bloemfontein and Botshabelo. The number of campuses expanded rapidly – initially in the Free State province, and later throughout South Africa. In 1998 the Stanford Colleges were taken over by the Primeserv (then Privest) Group, providing corporate stability and a platform for future growth. Home Study Colleges also acquired by Primeserv in 1998 (later to become Stanford Distance Learning) and Working World Colleges acquired by Primeserv in 1999,  were also brought into the Primeserv fold.  Currently (2006) Stanford Computer & Business College provides facilitation for almost 6000 learners via 30 nation-wide College Campuses.  Learners are able to register for SAQA accredited qualifications and short skills courses at the campuses located throughout South Africa.

 Academic Offerings

Stanford Computer & Business College, Stanford Distance Learning, incorporating Home Study College and Working World Colleges, offer a wide variety of courses, ranging from Computer and IT, to Business Management, Secretarial and Tourism. In addition, internationally recognized diploma courses are offered under the auspices of the London Chamber of Commerce & Industry. Courses can be taken on a full, part-time and distance learning basis.

Training facilitation is conducted by registered assessors, who assist and guide learners to apply the practical aspects of the courses studied over and above the theoretical component.

The affordable fees (offering market leading value for money) paid by registered learners, include learning material, facilitation and assessments. On the successful completion of the courses graduation ceremonies are held and Certificates and registered collars are awarded.   Deserving learners are also offered the opportunity to pay as they learn. Stanford Business and Computer Colleges’ bursary programme provides a 50% non repayable bursary award to deserving applicants.

The educationally sound atmosphere, together with the market-related courses and skills-based training, ensure that our graduates are a step ahead. Through personalised tuition and individual focus, the Colleges ensure that learners will receive the attention they require to achieve the successful outcomes prescribed. The training provided contributes towards our learner’s personal motivation, this in turn motivates others, thereby raising the level of morale and productivity in an organization.
